HELLO IT'S TUESDAY, FOLKS. I have something really important to talk about today, so please read everything super carefull!
I HAVE BEEN HAVING SUUUUUCH A BLAST RUNNING THE GAME FOR YOU GUYS, but! I have realized that I simply do not have it in me to mod the game indefinitely like I originally planned. There are a lot of reasons for this which are silly and personal, but the tl;dr is I vvvvastly overestimated the mental bandwidth I have to spare for modding. This is a HUGE fuck up on my part!! I am so deeply and horrendously sorry!! I KNOW HEARING THIS IS LIKE, A HUGE FUCKING BUMMER! Especially when I can tell that you guys are having so much fun (which makes me SO HAPPY in my heartspace weh). Words cannot express how absolutely mortified I am at myself for opening a wholeass long-term DWRP only to be like W. WHOOPS, ACTUALLY. . . . . . it's not a great look on my part and I recognize that. I'm really, REALLY sorry, folks.
With all that said, I also really don't want to just be like OKAY I'M PEACING OUT NOW BYE. I may not be able to mod indefinitely, but I can still give you about two months (MAYBE THREE BUT PREFERABLY TWO) of EXPEDITED PLOT to wrap up the game with a nice li'l bow! I do want to deliver on some of the promises I have made and give y'all the space to play out the arcs you started. And also kill some nasty ghosts!! Despite everything, I can and will be putting my all into making things SUPER FUN and SUPER ENGAGING for y'all over the next two months, too. I won't leave you hanging I promise ;w;/
Before I start retooling my plot plans though, I want to make sure that this is a decision you guys are okay with. I know that sometimes being told that a game is shifting towards an ending when it wasn't advertised as being short-term can kill people's drive, and if hearing this has killed YOURS, please tell me! I've included a poll below where you can do just that. PLEASE ANSWER HONESTLY, I promise my feelings will not be hurt either way. This is, again, a complete and utter failure on my part and not yours.
Thank you friends for giving my game a chance either way. Thank you for apping and creating such a colorful cast of characters who are fun and engaging. Thank you for participating in all of my silly ideas and threading with me as a player. I AM. . . STILL DEEPLY MORTIFIED WITH MYSELF, and I promise I don't need words of comfort or reassurance about this either, rofl. Please feel free to contact me privately if you need to with any other questions or concerns! I will do my best to talk them out with you! Please note that once I put this up I have to vanish into work for ten+ hours (sobs) and I will be training someone all day so my time online will be pretty sporadic.

[boy, has it been a busy week and some change! the fundraising activities seems to have excited more than just the mortal student body. if you've been paying attention to the table adorned with spider lilies throughout the event, you would have noticed that some of the school haunts have been dropping pieces of ghostly yen into the jars scattered on top of it. each jar is now overflowing with glowing golden coins. they're intangible, unfortunately-- no one is going to strike it rich while stuck in this school-- but! they're pretty to look at!]

[The Sunday class of the fundraising event is a bit of light fare, but it does come with its lecture at its homework.
On the board, Miss Cadence has written WHY ARE EYES THE WINDOWS TO THE SOUL? and underlined it twice, beneath which is written a lesson in figurative language.
The first thing about this woman is that she's extremely annoying at the front of the classroom. She's sitting all over the desk, she paces around as she lectures, and she seems to have eyes in the back of her head, so good luck doing anything when she's turned around. The second thing is that she actually sounds quite knowledgable once she begins speaking. She has plentiful examples, explains the different types of figurative language clearly and concisely, and has an impassioned argument for how understanding these devices are the first step in analyzing language for what people don't explicitly say, allowing for stronger critical thinking.
Today, she'll walk students through three cases of figurative language:

There is a game/event going on right now! It is the school club fundraiser event! tl;dr, complete tasks, get points. Earn enough points and your club may be sponsored by the spooky ghosts! As a bit of a spoiler, in the aftermath of the minigame, I plan on implementing school clubs as a new mechanic to the game as a whole. My vision is that there will be VARIOUS SCHOOL CLUBS associated with certain tasks that characters may join, and yes, I may be using the clubs you guys come up with as a springboard for ideas. Characters may complete said tasks to earn rewards that can be cashed in for things like power regains, items from home, the offensive/defensive ofuda sometimes offered as minigame rewards, and a couple of other things. This does mean that I'll be retooling the rewards characters get for winning minigames, but that won't be implemented until the minigame after this one. I do hope this gives you guys more of an opportunity to engage with the setting beyond just the mod-sanctioned mingles I make! ;w;/ SPEAKING OF MOD-SANCTIONED MINGLES. I think I have been pretty nice with the mingle prompts thus far, but in October I'd like for things to get a little hairy and/or dangerous for the student body. The PvP trauma minigame will occur late October (dates tbd), but leading up to it I plan on making a post or two with BAD THINGS HAPPENING so you guys can have a li'l h/c for spooky season. This is basically just a warning that October will probably be a little heavier on the trauma side, so you can plan accordingly! Though that said, from October 10 - 14 I will be on vacation. No mod things will be happening during that period! Due to what I have planned for October, I also probably won't be doing any team explorations that month. I WILL MAKE UP FOR IT IN NOV/DEC I PROMISE! Activity Check is due tomorrow! PLEASE TURN IN IT! If you were on hiatus for 2+ weeks you are exempt, but please still comment to your team header with a link to your hiatus comment or something along the lines of I WAS ON HIATUS. Also this has not been advertised as an official policy, but if you were accepted within the last two weeks of the month and don't yet have AC, it's okay! You are also exempt. I will add this to the AC page because. . . I forgot to have an exception like this. . . sweats.

[ As you're walking down the hall, you might be drawn into one of the empty classrooms by a sign outside that reads "FREE* CONTRABAND →"
Inside, someone has pushed some desks together to form a table! On one side of it there's a wide variety of alcohol, on the other there's all sorts of non-alcoholic beverages, up to and including—gasp!—tools to make decent tea and coffee! For the alcohol, tea, and coffee, however, you'll find that if you try to help yourself to a drink without actually playing, it will just poof out of your hands. If you want your luxury items, you have to pay the game tax! ]
Have you ever played Never Have I Ever? For those unfamiliar, one player states something they've never done in their life, and anyone who does have that experience must take a drink. Then the game moves on to the next person! Quite simple, no?

[ As you're walking down the hall, you might be drawn into one of the empty classrooms by a sign outside that reads "FREE* CONTRABAND →"
Inside, someone has pushed some desks together to form a table! On one side of it there's a wide variety of alcohol, on the other there's all sorts of non-alcoholic beverages, up to and including—gasp!—tools to make decent tea and coffee! For the alcohol, tea, and coffee, however, you'll find that if you try to help yourself to a drink without actually playing, it will just poof out of your hands. If you want your luxury items, you have to pay the game tax! ]
Have you ever played Never Have I Ever? For those unfamiliar, one player states something they've never done in their life, and anyone who does have that experience must take a drink. Then the game moves on to the next person! Quite simple, no?

What: A fundraiser!
Warnings: nothing you guys don't bring upon yourselves; cw appropriately!
[Friday morning begins with the chime of the bell, and the gentle pattering of rain against the school rooftops. You rise from your slumber and step out of your dormitory to find the school walls absolutely decked out in advertisement posters! They say things like, Join the Occult Club Today! or Ever wanted to be someone else for a change? The Drama Club is the place for you! or Come get the shit beaten out of you at the Fight Club! There are multiples of each poster plastered on top of each other, and they cover all sorts of school clubs, including many not listed above. Huh!]
[Alongside the posters are large arrows guiding you towards the gymnasium. It appears to be open today, which. . . bodes poorly, if past events are any indication. But at least this time, nothing is forcing you to go inside. Maybe that is a boon. . .?]
[Inside the gymnasium are seven different booths, each one adorned with a sign one of each homeroom are listed. The booths are currently unadorned, but there appear to be boxes of. . . supplies? Or something?? Located behind each one]
[There is also a long, single table adorned with a black cloth and a vase full of red spider lilies set up near the gymnasium stage. It has a bunch of empty jars laid out on top of it. For coins! Obviously!]
[Once most of the student body has gathered, an unfamiliar voice echoes across the PA]
Welcome, students. I know it is in poor taste for me to introduce myself so late into the school year, particularly when you have already met several members of my staff. But ah! Here we are!
As your loving and adoring principal, I wish for nothing but to provide enrichment in your daily student lives. As such, the faculty and I have decided to sponsor several school clubs for your continued education. Ah, but the budget is limited, and we only have so many resources to spare!
And that, my students, is where you come in.
